4 Day Classic Kruger Safari
Dear Andrew & Natalie,
I will summarize since I am on someone else's computer.
We had a fantastic time. We saw the Big 5= 12 rhinos, many elephants, many buffalo, 5 leopards (Paul K. says it is his personal record), and 15-20 lions. Lots of birds= 30 or more different species. Also saw crocodiles, water monitors, kudus, giraffes, hippos, warthogs, lots of 'boks=springboks, little boks, big boks, lost of impalas, wildebeest, several Deiker( a very small deer). Klipspringers.
On the night tour with the Park people we saw a puff adder, hippos, lions, elephants, dwarf mongoose, hyenas. I would highly recommend at least one night tour with the Park people. Several rare Tseebes. I think among several highlights was the animal and plant/tree and bird variety. And so close together. Gives me a better understanding for the word 'diversity'.
The accommodations were great at Skukuza and Pretoriuskop. Paul K was a hit with his cooking- we gained 2 kg each because of his good cooking. He even took still and video pictures for us because our camera broke before we arrived at the Park. He gets married tomorrow (Sunday) and it is supposed to be cold and windy and maybe rain in Durban! I will say a prayer for him and his bride-to-be Vicky.
If I remember more when I review my notes, I will write again. But for now, we can very highly recommend Safari Rangers and Paul K. and the whole trip. You may edit this note and we do not mind if you send it to Lonely Planet.

4 Day Classic Kruger Safari
We are home safely and have had the most wonderful trip. We not only saw the big 5, in one day, we saw them all at least twice as well as a huge variety of birds, vultures, horn bills of all colours and sizes, secretary birds, eagles to name but a few.
Nothing quite beats sitting on the veranda looking over the African bush at sunset watching baboons and listening to hippo in the river below us.
Our guide was great company and as well as being an excellent tracker, we saw leopard twice, a pride of twelve lions, very large buffalo herds, had a large male lion casually walk alongside us on the road early one morning - I could go on for ever - Gavin was a wonderful cook, having restaurant quality dinners served each evening, complete with tablecloth, wine and candles was a perfect end to very exciting days.
We have come away feeling that everyone involved genuinely cared that we had the best possible trip, and we did. I have already recommended the company to several other people. We expect to see the hook lipped wart hog pictures on the web site (ask Gavin).
Thank you again for everything, and please feel free to pass on any comments to The Lonely Planet, together with my e mail address if they want to contact me for further references.
We have travelled a fair amount to various places and your company is one of the best we have ever had the fortune to find, we hope to be able to return to Africa on safari with you again in the not too distant future.
Regards
Margaret

5 Day Classic Kruger Safari
Hi Andrew
Yes, back home now and at work - painful after three weeks off!.
It was a fantastic experience. Over our five days we were pretty spoilt with what we saw. We did see all of the big five (though only the one brief leopard sighting all trip, but all the magical because of it).
However, all the life in the park was stunning. The Kruger park is certainly a wonderful place to visit. Whilst we saw so much (more than our expectations), there's clearly so much more to see. I consider it fairly likely that we shall be back at some point - and will certainly be back in contact with yourselves at that point.
I'm happy to report that the trip lived up to (and exceeded) our expectations. The Soweto tour organised incredibly interesting. Accommodation was good in the park.
Our ranger was simply brilliant. Not only did we feel very well looked after - driving us around, checking we had what we needed, knew what was going on, were (almost too!) well fed, etc - but crucially he was both great company and an incredible guide. Both my partner and I, and the other two people with us for part of the trip, were awed with his abilities in spotting/finding animals for us, and knowledge of everything in and about the park - from what we could see of other guides, he definitely seemed above average. He demonstrated great breadth of knowledge in
identifying everything around us (not just the big animals, but birds, insects, plant life, etc), and depth in teaching us to identify species, sex, behaviour, etc.
Highlights for us would include: the big five (in particular a pride of lions at night, and another early morning with some cubs), the beautiful birds we saw (including 5/6 of their "big six"), the rarer
spotting (such as Sable), and some great behaviour such as a hippo "yawning" right in front of us. There's really too much to pick from though!
I've already recommended Safari Rangers to others.
Regards
Stuart

3 Day Classic Kruger Safari
Hello to you all at Safari Rangers in the UK and South Africa
We would like to thank you all for a wonderful experience. Our guide Willem was excellent, attentive to all our needs, extremely knowledgeable and informative, paid attention to detail, he was well mannered and an all round nice guy.
The tour provided us with a really comprehensive visit to the Kruger Park, the vehicle we travelled in was comfortable. The accommodation in the park was very good however the lodges at
Pretoriuskop were a little more basic than those a Skukuza, but acceptable nonetheless. The food provided by Willem was very good and tasty.
We were enthralled to have viewed all of the big 5, even though the Elephant and Leopard were elusive until the final hour of our visit.
The return journey to Johannesburg through the Blyde River Canyon was spectacular and nicely wound up our Safari.
We hope to be able join you again in the future and we would definitely recommend you to anyone contemplating a Safari tour.
Please pass on our regards to Willem.

5 Day Classic Kruger Safari
Dear Andrew & Natalie,
Thank your very much for your email. Indeed, we had an excellent time in South Africa and at the end an amazing finish with our 5 day Classic Safari.
Although, we actually did not expect to be with young children on the safari we enjoyed it very much and are proud to tell that we have seen all of the Big 5 except the Leopard.
In particular we would like to point out that we have been extremely satisfied with our Safari Ranger Willem. He made this Safari to a real and unforgettable success.
We have attached a couple of pictures for you – pls pay especially attention to the crocodile where we have been very lucky. According to Willem it is quite unusual that a crocodile kills a tortoise...
Kind regards,
Jürg & Marco

3 Day Camping Kruger Safari
hey
Just letting you know I thought the safari was great! No, we didn't get to see the Big 5...actually only the buffalo and elephant out of all 5, but having great guides totally made up for it!
Gavin and Sam were amazing and I wouldn't have changed anything about the whole experience. The guides were very knowledgeable and fun. Part of my experience was the group of people I
travelled with, so that is an uncontrollable variable for you guys over on that end of the workings, but still accounted for part of the enjoyment of my trip.
Thank you for being extremely accommodating and patient in the booking process. I had a blast!

5 Day Classic Kruger Safari Hi Andrew
Apologies for the delay in responding, since we arrived back we have been away again, this time not a holiday but down to my daughter's in Christchurch Dorset to help install a new kitchen!
The Kruger safari was fantastic. I took early retirement end 2005, one of my objectives was to do a lot of travelling. Since then we have been 5 weeks in New Zealand, 4 weeks in Canada (Rockies, Vancouver, Victoria and cruise up the Inside Passage), Snowdonia, Switzerland (Jungfrau region) and France (Alsace/Vosges), as well as the recent trip to S Africa. There we spent 2 weeks hiking in the Drakensberg mountains, 5 days in Cape Town/Cape Peninsular, 7 days Cape Winelands and GArden Route, 3 days at Victoria Falls and 1 day in
Jo'burg. We both agree that the 5 days safari was the best experience of the lot.
The bush in the Kruger, and the varying ecosystems, was excellent and seeing the animals was phenomenal, a wonderful experience.
I would add that we were incredibly impressed with the welcome and safari provided by Safari Rangers, absolutely top drawer, everything was first class. I would be more than happy for you to quote these and the following comments to anybody, and act as a reference using the above email address, since I would be pleased for many others to share the experience:
1. The guide Willem was amazing. Extremely professional but friendly, highly knowledgeable, totally motivated to getting us to see as many animals as possible. We saw the Big 5, I am still in awe how Willem found the leopard in the tree with its kill. Willem's breakfasts and his dinners were super. Willem could not be bettered, many thanks to him.
2. The Safari Rangers concept of small groups in a 4x4/minibus is spot on. We were in a group of 4 (i.e. one other couple) and the minibus was very comfortable, all 4 of us had good viewing, we were high enough to see the animals, and we were sheltered from the sun, wind etc. Having seen the other visitors/transport in the Park, I definitely would not go in my own vehicle (too low, I would not know where to find the animals, a guide knows what he is looking for and has so much knowledge) and I would not like going in large groups (egg the Park's own drives) nor the larger and open safari jeeps (which are taller for viewing, but open to the elements and not all seat positions are good for viewing eg not good views on both sides of the vehicles).
3. The Park's camps were entirely satisfactory accommodation, perfectly adequate and complemented the "back to nature" experience of the safari. No way would I consider the expensive private lodges available!!
4. The journey back from the Kruger along the Panorama Route was also excellent and much appreciated.
We thought the Safari Rangers total experience was incredible and excellent value for money and have already recommended it to friends and family - I would be very surprised if some of them do not go on safari with you in the future. And we may well come back as well, although there are so many other places in the world that we wish to go to as well.
Good luck in your future business!
Tony and Jose

4 Day Classic Kruger Safari
Hi Andrew,
we just came back from SA. it was a great 4 days safari. first of all: excellent organisation, then lots (and I mean really lots) of sightings with Big5 except a
leopard, but we saw a bunch of wild dogs thanks to one person: Willem our guide. he did an outstanding job, giving us lots of background information on animals, showing real passion for the park and its creatures.
we will recommend Willem + Safari Rangers for any Kruger Safari.

4 Day Classic Kruger Safari
Dear Andrew and Natalie,
What can we say?
Our safari was much more than we expected. Our ranger Gavin was friendly, informative and patient. He was quite obviously passionate about his job and South Africa's wildlife. He fed us well with both information and food!
We travelled as a group of six the youngest three being our son Matt who is 12 and our twin sons Darcy and Joel aged 9. I need not have worried about their young age as they enjoyed it as much as us. They sat riveted during the game drives some of which lasted over 4 hours.
Gavin was always very patient and nothing was ever too much bother. We all enjoyed the experience greatly.
We saw 4 of the big 5 missing only leopard. Our sightings included among others a close up encounter with a bull elephant in must, buffalo fighting, hippo's mating, lions playing and calling, hyena sleeping, 4 rhino in a group, giraffe, crocodile not to mention many more. It was a shame that we didn't see the elusive leopard and cheetah but it certainly gives us something to come back for and we most certainly will.
A big thank you again to all.

4 Day Classic Kruger Safari
We returned on Wed this
this week after an amazing 17 days in South Africa, the
highlight of our holiday by far was the 4 days 3 nights we
spent on your safari.
We had such a great time
with the people we were paired with and your Ranger Paul.
Paul was dedicated,
enthusiastic, knowledgeable, informative a good laugh and
great company. As a result a Paul's expertise and a lot of
luck we managed to see the big five no less than 5 times and
managed to see 5 Leopards, with a few close encounters along
the way.
This experience will live
in our minds forever, please pass on a big thanks to Paul,
and double his pay because he deserves it.
We will spread the word
back in the UK about your safari's and hope to return to
South Africa again very soon.

5 Day Classic Kruger Safari
Dear Andrew, Natalie and
especially Gavin,
My apologies for our
slow reply we didn't return home until the 7th January and
returned back to work rather promptly!
South Africa was a
stunning country and we thoroughly enjoyed our four weeks,
not so keen on returning to the English winter. Our Safari
was wonderful and a totally amazing experience. A 30km
traffic jam meant our journey to Kruger got off to a
slightly slow start and we were very pleased when we
arrived, although the journey was a nice opportunity to sit
back and watch the country side go by and chat to our Gavin
our guide.
Firstly we must say that
Gavin made a very big part of the whole experience. His
people skills and knowledge were exemplary turning looking
at the animals into a whole educational and enlighten stay
in Kruger.
We had been in the park
less than half an hour and found ourselves sat watching two
lion cubs playing behind a bush. A tip off sent us to a pack
of nine African Wild Dogs walking along the road. What can I
say, a fantastic welcome to the park. You know it is a rare
sight when your guide gets as excited as Gavin did! Another
tip off and we just missed a leopard with a kill but the
impala was still in the tree, a safe et for the morning
surely.
The accommodation within
the park meant we were in right in the middle of all the
action. The huts within the Skukuza camp were ample and the
meal that Gavin cooked tasted amazing under the hundreds of
stars.
Next morning, we were
told that we must be out of the camp early as the cats use
the roads before the cars do. We were third out of the gate
at 4.30am after being woken with a cup of tea and rusk by
Gavin at 4! Straight off to the leopard kill but we were
stopped on our way by a pack of Wild Dogs hunting. It was
absolutely incredible to see this complex animal behaviour
but Gavin taught us all about what was happening.
Unfortunately the Leopard and kill had gone by the time we
got there but a hyena was there and could smell what had
gone on. Gavin went to do his normal loop but changed his
mind when he saw the traffic! We were stopped around the
corner by a baboon corden and then 2 old male water buffalo.
Just as we were driving off from these big cows a leopard
walked along the road quite calmly then disappeared into the
bush. Within approximately 3 hours of the safari we had seen
the 2 most elusive creatures, which also happened to be the
2 creatures we wanted to see the most! We stopped for a cup
of tea and a rusk at 7.30 with an amazing view over the
river and a crocodile. There were some monkeys at the picnic
spot trying to steal our food but they made for comical
morning refreshments. Even by now Gavin had started our
tracking lesson but in the car park all the tracks were
pointed out. By the end of the 5 days we were experts in
tracking and were even pointing out tracks to Gavin!
The rest of the morning
drive saw giraffes, lions, elephant and another leopard! In
the afternoon we went to my favourite place in Kruger. It
was a bird hide over looking a reservoir and was so peaceful
and so busy all at the same time. In the evening we went out
on a game drive with the guides from Skukuza which was not
up to the standard we had now got ourselves used to. When we
come back we won't worry about doing this as another few
hours with Gavin would have been much more productive and
interesting.
Now might be a good time
to congratulate you on is the choice of vehicles, I was
slightly sceptical about a closed vehicle as all the TV
programs you see are open. The closed vehicle kept us
comfortable in all weather and allowed in depth conversation
with Gavin meaning even the stupid questions got
an comprehensive answer. This was emphasised when we learnt
that people were being taken off the open top vehicles with
heat stroke in the sun and were all wrapped up in coats and
blankets when it turned cold!
The next day we moved
from Skukuza to Lower Sabie, today was the day of elephants!
We must have seen over 100 on their way to the river and
plenty of white rhino. Big 5 with Gavin completed! The
following day we went cheetah and black rhino spotting but
failed with both! We did see our 3rd leopard with a kill!
Absolutely fantastic!
Overall, I don't think
we could have picked a better guide to be with or a better
setup. I would recommend flying in though, driving back
through Blyde river canyon was very beautiful but the drive
both ways was a long way, bad weather and fog made our
return journey really tiring.
Would you please forward
this email and photo's on to Gavin as we would both like to
express our sincere thanks for his hard work.
I have sent a second
email with a few of our photo's ......... it was really
difficult to choose!!!

3 Day Classic Kruger Safari
Dear Leonard & Team
First of all we would like to thank you for the wonderful time we had last week with Safari Rangers. Our 3 day safari was fantastic and we have nothing but praise for your team. We have already recommended other people to review your website, as they are also looking at a safari in Africa.
Your guides were simply fantastic, both Paul and Jaco (not sure of the correct spelling) were highly
knowledgeable and displayed impeccable customer service. In such a competitive market (safaris) your approach of small groups with great guides really makes all the difference. They are highly passionate about there work and they made sure we got the most out of time.
Some of the events we witnessed were nothing short of remarkable. Seeing 6 cheetahs at one time all hunting game and then to have this topped by a 4 lion pride chasing a giraffe was spectacular.
Unfortunately our photos didn't turn out so well, but the memories will remain. Jaco also noted that seeing 4 lions in a tree eating a Leopard kill was
truly remarkable. We were amazed.
Both Paul and Jaco were fantastic and they loved hearing about the Australian outback, so our travel and meal times were never boring.
Once again we thank you very much and look forward to reading your website to see of the planned tour changes in the future, walking tours do sound interesting and it would be a good direction for your company to take.
Thank you
Regards Damian & Mirella

4 Day Classic Kruger Safari
Dear Andrew and Robert
Susan and I would like to thank you and your organization for a wonderful four day classic Safari that you organized. It was one of the most memorable vacations that we have had and it was made possible due to the wonderful arrangements that you made and also primarily due to your exceptional ranger Willieum. I would like to compliment your organization from the first contact I made with Andrew over the email and his responses were very prompt and informative including giving the details of the pricing which removed all ambiguity.
On 31st August we were picked up by Robert and we had a very pleasant four hour drive to Neilsprite and after a very good lunch we were taken by your ranger and guide Willieum into the Kruger Park. The next four days we were looked after extremely well and Willieum prepared our breakfast and dinner consisting of a medium rare T bone steak, pasta with tuna toppings and on the final day we had chicken and rice.
Williem was not only a magnificent guide but his ability to spot the animals was truly remarkable. On the four days we saw some rare and exotic birds including the secretary bird, the three types of vultures, the mini falcon besides the big four, the dangerous six and the magnificent seven. The only animal that we did not sight was the wild dogs. The last day before leaving Kruger we saw the leopard with his kill and that was a great sighting.
We would certainly be sharing our experiences with friends in USA.
Susan and I are grateful to you both and to Willieum in particular. A truly remarkable person is Willieum and it is not so much as his ability and competence but more about his passion, his sincerity and honesty that make him standout.
We would be happy if you could let Willieum know about this mail and our sincere appreciation for all he did. I personally felt a little sad to say goodbye to Kruger.
Our eldest son is already making plans to visit Kruger and I hope he would have the privilege of Willieum being his guide.
Thank you
Regards
Susan and Joseph

3 Day Classic Kruger Safari
Dear Andrew and Natalie
I'm sorry for late answer to your e-mail!
I do not know where to start in telling you about our best holiday ever!!!! We have all of us travelled quite a lot, but we all do not hesitate to say that our trip to South Africa was probably the best trip ever!! And much of that is because of the great safari with you!
We had great expectations to the safari before our trip. And all the expectations were fulfilled and even more! :-)
We saw so many great animals! And so close upon the car! It was almost unreal. The highlights I think must be a leopard eating an impala up in a three, 7 cheetahs were lying on the rocks relaxing, 7 out of the park’s total of 70-80 cheetahs! Just next to the car one morning we had two rhinos. And of course the evening safari when we met two lion brothers and followed them for 1,5 hour. One of the lions were quite shy and kept some distance between him and us, but the other one, the oldest, didn't seem to care and we follow him on his way around marking his territory after the rain had washed the old marks away. The lion was at the closest only a couple of meters away from us.
But also amazing was when the car was almost surrounded by a herd of baboons as they passed us. Tiny baby baboons playing with each other just next to the car were a funny and nice experience. We saw a herd of elephants far away in the horizon on their way somewhere, and we followed them and tried to meet them where they had to cross the road. After looking for them for a while and waiting for them a while the patience gave result! 10-15 elephants crossed the road close to were we were, and started eating just next to us. The sight of the elephants eating a lot of threes was amazing!
We saw young hippos playing with each other. We saw huge crocodiles. We saw lots and lots and even more impalas! We saw zebras, beautiful and elegant giraffes both running and lying which is apparently very rare (we have a picture of the lying zebra)! We saw turtles, more zebras, more elephants, steenboks, warthog, monkeys, hyenas, eagles,
bush babies, mongooses, bushbucks, kudus and even more.
We had the best safari we could hope for. And we know that we were very, very lucky with seeing all these animals. I think we saw much more than an average trip, or what? J It is impossible to know how much animals we'll see during the safari, but what there is no doubt about is that Paul in an amazing guide and is an expert in spotting the animals. We said several time during the safari that without his brilliant skills we would see only a fraction of the animals we saw! How he mange to see the animals, often on long distances, and while he is driving is a mystery to us!
We have A LOT of pictures and will love to share them with you. But I would like to send them all to you on a DVD -otherwise I will fill up your entire mailbox!.. J What's your post address? And what is the post address to the office in Jo'burg? We would like to send a DVD to Paul too.
I enclose a holiday photo album we made for our friend so you can see some of the pictures we will send you.
We will definitely advise any friend or family who want to go on safari to choose you!
Feel free to forward our comments to Lonely Planet.
Best regards,
Siri, Rune, Beata and Frank

4 Day Classic Kruger Safari
Dear Andrew and Natalie,
Kathy and I got back to NZ at midnight last night, so that will explain this late reply. We were actually three weeks in Africa to spend time with our grandchildren, and the Safari was an aside. We had a fantastic time in the Kruger. The fortunate part for us was having Denise Carey as our guide. Nobody could be more dedicated to both client and animals as she was.
Firstly there was only Kathy and I on the trip, this meant absolute individual attention. Secondly, because we were both keen to see everything we could, not just the big five, Denise worked overtime, so that we were on game drives
through the daylight hours while in the Kruger. She is a fantastic cook, and so meals although cooked on a brie, could have come from any gourmet hotel kitchen. The late evenings were spent talking about our sightings of the day, and still she had the coffee ready and the table laid by 5:30am so that we could be as close to first out of the gate as possible.
Denise was determined to give us the best experience that she could, and as a result we not only saw and photographed the big five, but many other birds and animals as well, including the shy and rarely seen black rhino, and the ground hornbill. She was a keen student of nature and able to tell us a great deal about the habits of everything we saw from the elephant to the dwarf mongoose and smallest lizard to termite mound construction and use. She taught us how to look for game, and it became a competition every time we approached a kopje, to see who could spot the klipspringer "lookout" first. This sort of trip may not be for everyone, but it exactly matched what we wanted from it, and it to Denises credit that she judged our level of interest accurately.
The only suggestion I have which would have improved the experience would have been to spend the whole time at Skukuza, where the game was more plentiful. On forays out of Pretoriuskop, there was difficulty with the high grass making sightings of the predators nearly impossible unless they were right on the road or on burnt off areas. The night drive from
Pretoriuskop was unfortunately not very productive, and would also have been better somewhere on the Sabi River.
Local knowledge is a great thing, and Denise had plenty, so that when it was time to come home, our safari continued. Our discussions about the countryside we passed through was put in terms of James A Micheners book the Covenant, which all three of us had read, bringing to life the story of the
Voortrekker described in the book. Throughout the rides from and to home, Denise pointed out items and animals of interest, and our first sighting of a Springbok came very close to Pretoria on our homeward journey.
Although I took many photographs none are particularly professional, but have enclosed a couple.
We will return to Kruger at some time in the future, and will pass your name on to others in the meantime.
Regards, John and Kath

3 Day Classic Kruger Safari
Dear Gavin,
Ian and I want to extend to you our heartfelt thanks for one of the most inspiring experiences of our lives. We had no idea when we signed up for a Kruger-Park tour that it would be as wonderful as it turned out to be.
I never thought I would see so many animals that I had only dreamed about in the wild in such a short period of time. Kruger Park is a real treasure but then so are you. The animals were brought to life for us as much through your knowledge and insight into them as the actual sight of them standing right before us. You are an amazing guide. Not only are you knowledgeable through the many experiences you have had throughout your life but you are interesting and sensitive to the needs of your customer.
Ian and I were interested in EVERYTHING, not only the Big Five and you gave us an incredible overview of the diversity, complexity and interdependence of the animal life in Kruger. The highlights of the lions walking five feet beside on the road for some twenty minutes and the various animals responding to the lion kill will remain with me forever. Your enthusiasm for Kruger is contagious and we hope to come back one day for a longer safari.
We also appreciated your sense of timing for all of our activities. Everything just seemed to fall into place naturally.
We felt “guided” but never rushed. You are also a terrific chef. Our meals were first class and as Ian and I are enjoying our fortieth year of marriage, we felt very special and romantic as we sat down to eat our evening meals.
In short, we could not have been more pleased with EVERYTHING that we have experienced during the last few days. We will certainly recommend you and your tour group to all of our friends (in South Africa and around the world) and we thank you profusely for being the person that you are.
Yours sincerely,
Pam and Ian

5 Day Classic Kruger Safari
Dear Andrew,
Thanks for your email. We are more than happy to support your campaign to get into Lonely Planet and recommend you to all our friends, but first of all we are hoping to come back to Kruger, with your company, ourselves.
We were extremely happy with the service you have provided. We had such a good time! And yes, we saw the Big 5 and so much more.
We were especially delighted to have spent these few days in the lovely and impressively competent company of our guide Gavin, he really was the difference between a good holiday and an unforgettable wildlife experience.
All the best,
Maria and Robert

4 Day Classic Kruger Safari
Dear Andrew,
Sorry its taken me so long to get back to you. We have been so busy since we got back home. Our trip to South Africa and Mozambique was very interesting and good.
Our safari was wonderful. Everything was great and our guide was so knowledgeable (and a good cook), which really made the safari so good. He was able to get us to places and sights that I am sure not all tours experience.
We can see now that booking with you was better than booking with an agency that takes lots of people at once. We loved the smaller tour and having the guide to ourselves.
We did not see all of the Big 5; we did not see any leopards, but saw buffalo, elephants, lions, and rhinos. We missed seeing the hyenas and wild dogs too. But we did see so many different animals and birds, and it was all so interesting and amazing.
We were saddened to hear that the lions are getting TB from the buffalo and becoming much more sparse. We were able to see an old male with a big mane, but you could see that he was sick. Still an amazing sight though. We can imagine that the Krueger is very pretty when it is all green.
I want to thank you for taking such good care of us while we were there and for helping us in making some of our travel decisions. Leonard and Robert were very helpful and willing to answer our questions.
Sincerely,
Denise

5 Day Classic Kruger Safari
Hi Andrew,
Thanks for the email. My husband Ken and I had a wonderful trip to South Africa (Kruger).
The animals were amazing and our guide, Willam, was such a pleasure to be around. He was friendly, polite, knowledgeable (about EVERY animal we saw), and a great cook too! I cannot say enough nice things about him. He made the whole experience wonderful.
We saw 4 of the "Big 5" -- those leopards are so elusive and we didn't get the opportunity to spot one.
Kruger has so much more to offer than the "Big 5". Seeing the hyena, baboons, giraffes and countless other amazing animals was just as much fun as seeing the elephants, rhinos...etc.
I'm definitely looking forward to visiting South Africa again one day, and would recommend Safari Rangers to anyone interested in visiting Kruger National Park.
Please feel free to use my comments in Lonely Planet.
Also, send a huge "thank you" to Robert and Willam for making our trip so memorable.
I have attached some of pictures from our trip. Enjoy!
Take care,
Lisa

3 Day Classic Kruger Safari
Dear Safari Rangers
I would like to say thank you for organising a brilliant Kruger National Park tour. It was a fantastic experience and one of the highlight of my holiday in South Africa.
The tour was very well organised from start to finish and very accommodating to my circumstances (i.e. late booking, single traveller and pick up required from a private residence in Centurion). Having a UK based office offered extra security and they were very prompt in responding to requests.
I would like to say a big thank you to Wilhem our ranger as well, he was incredible Wilhem’s knowledge and enthusiasm for his job just couldn’t help but make you eager to discover what animals the day would bring.
I highly recommend your company for anyone wishing to visit Kruger National Park on a trip to South Africa. I have included some photos taken on the tour. Please pass on my thanks to Wilhem and the rest of the team.
Keep up the good work!
Yours sincerely, Lauren

3 Day Classic Kruger Safari
Dear Andrew & Natalie,
The safari was very nice, we had a great time.
Jaco was an excellent ranger as well, we had a great time with him.

4 Day
Fly-in Classic Kruger Safari
Hi there,
-
Well the bottom line was it was all
absolutely amazing!!
-
Our ranger, Whellem (not sure of exact
spelling) was great. He was 110%
committed to ensuring we saw as much as possible
and succeeded beyond any expectations we had, we
really would like you to pass our appreciation
on to him. We can't fault in any way the
whole safari (including food and accommodation).
-
We don't have our pictures developed yet but if
we do find anything particularly good we will
send it on, I know that Whellem was interested
in the leopard shot!
-
It goes without saying I will be recommending
you to anyone else I know that is looking for a
safari in South
Africa.
-
Thanks again for everything, it really
was such a memorable experience.

3 Day Classic Kruger Safari
Hi
there,
Thank
you for your e-mail.
- We
had a really fantastic Kruger trip and have many
wonderful memories and photographs (lots of) to look
back on.
-
We
must all say a big thank you to your guide, Bertus
(sorry don't know his surname) who made our trip really
special. He is not only very knowledgeable about
Kruger and its wildlife but also about the history and
culture of this wonderful country.
-
His
cooking was out of this world and I really would like
his recipe's. I didn't know such fabulous food could be
produced on a barbeque.
-
Bertus is also a really great, person to be with. He is
so easy to get along with. You have no feeling of
being rushed on your tour and nothing was too much
trouble for him. As I said previously the success of
the trip was largely down to him. Please pass on our
thanks to him.
-
The
service you provided for our trip was excellent and we
would have no hesitation in recommending Safari Rangers
to anyone who was travelling to South Africa.
-
On
behalf of Ray, Tom and Kath.
-
PS we
will have photographs which we will forward to you very soon

- 4 Day Classic Kruger Safari
Dear Andrew and Natalie
So sorry that this has taken a while for me to reply - life has been hectic since we returned off honeymoon. I have mislaid Jacos email address, so please could you forward this to him/Robert/Leonard for us. Many thanks.
We are certainly very happy to tell you about our safari experience and have copied Jaco on to this mail because we feel that our great experience was due to him and believe he deserves credit.
From the moment he picked us up Jaco was extremely friendly, open and obviously cared that we had the best safari possible. The transport was fully equipped with as much water and food as we needed but it was still comfortably spacious.
Jaco's knowledge was amazing. He could name a bird which was only just visible, and upon using binoculars and a bird book we saw that he was always right. His enthusiasm for seeing as much as possible certainly livened up the quiet times during the safari keeping us on the edge of our seat. We could not of asked for a better safari guide and he is most certainly an asset to your team.
The accommodation at
Letaba and Skukuza camps was great. Our request for a swimming pool was fulfilled - thank you. The food and service provided by Jaco was unquestionable, especially after a full day commentating on 100s of different species of birds and animals.
Although we did not see a leopard we were thrilled to see up close rhino, a herd of elephants, 5 lionesses and many giraffe, wildebeests and impala.
We will certainly be recommending Safari Rangers to our friends. Many thanks indeed, and many thanks Jaco - you are certainly in the right job.

Hi Leonard,
Just a short note to thanks you for the great trip you organised for us during our stay in SA.
The professionalism and organisation of Safari Rangers was excellent, were
very impressed with Robert's hospitality and your organisational professionalism.
Kruger was fantastic and Willem was a great host and excellent guide.
The accommodation you organised for us in Cape Town and the Garden Route and the service was first class.
The choice of stopover was excellent, and gave us a good insight into where we would like to spend more time on our next trip.
Thanks
Cheryl & Quentin
P.S. if you guys ever come over to Australia, and need a bed in Brisbane, you are most
welcome to stay with us in our home.

- 4 Day Classic Kruger Safari
Hi there,
Firstly, thank you FOR A TRULY AMAZING SAFARI EXPERIENCE in the stunning Kruger Park!
We incorporated our safari into a 5 week 'round the world holiday of which it most definitely rated as one of the top, if not the top highlight. This, I think was largely due to us having the luxury our own personal guide for the entire trip - not something we were expecting, this came as a very welcome and exciting surprise (you are obviously well aware of all the unique benefits this brings).
On to the Safari.... It's worth mentioning again, having our own personal guide/ranger was amazing, I must have lost count of the number of times we passed other 'group' tours only to think I'm so glad we're doing it this way, and not that!
Our guide, Jaco, was a joy to be with, we had a great laugh and got on 'like a house on fire', he made the trip what it was, a truly amazing experience.
Regarding the game viewing, we were fortunate enough to see all the Big 5 (white & black Rhino) and no end of other animals, many of which we'd probably never seen before - anywhere! The only thing we didn't see was Cheetah, but the many fantastic viewings of everything else more than made up for this, with the highlights undoubtedly being our early morning encounters (well worth getting up for) with a lioness and black Rhino - see attached pics.
Needless to say we have already recommended Safari Rangers to friends who are considering a Kruger park tour, we think you have something very unique to offer, and the enthusiasm of our guide only proves to show your in this business for the right reasons.
Please be sure to pass on our thanks to all at Safari Rangers and feel free to pass our comments to Lonely Planet if desired...
Best Regards,
Phil & Rachel

3 Day Classic Kruger Safari
Dear Andrew and
Natalie
Now back to this cold weather!
We had a great time and I cannot praise too highly the reception and attention we got from your colleague Leonard in
Jo'burg and Willhem the safari guide.
Willhem was fantastic as driver, cook and a fount of knowledge about the game and other wildlife. He ensured that we saw all the big five [although I missed the leopard!]
As a bonus we saw rarely sighted cheetahs -- three of them together. Apparently there are only 200 left in the whole of the park.
The Kruger trip was the highlight of our whole stay in SA.
Yours Sincerely Jim

5 Day Classic Kruger Safari
Hi there Andrew and Natalie,
Apologies for not responding sooner. We didn't get back from South Africa until October 26th. and have been very busy ever since. We certainly intended to provide feedback to you anyway.
.
Our trip overall was fantastic and as you say it's an amazing country. We were able to see a lot and spend quite a bit of time in Cape Town where one of our daughters is working/living for a year, hence our trip.
.
As regards the Safari - it was a highlight of our trip and a wonderful experience. We saw an incredible number of animals in a variety of situations, and only missed the leopard of the Big Five! We appreciated the warmth and personal way in which you corresponded with us right from the start and this was further exemplified on our actual safari.
.
The accommodation was excellent and we were thoroughly impressed with the standards of the S.A. National Parks and that's saying something coming from N. America which prides itself on service. Transportation, food, itinerary was tremendous and being picked up and dropped off in Johannesburg was a big plus.
.
Finally, we must comment on our Ranger, Willem Pieterse (spelling?). Willem was first-rate and was a key factor in the success of our safari. His knowledge and experience was invaluable and this enabled us to get sightings which I'm sure we would not have got otherwise. It was a bonus, of course, to have him all to ourselves! He really looked after us and was most professional at all times.
.
Willem is the perfect ranger because he truly loves what he is doing and loves the Park. He would be as excited as us about the sightings, even though he's been seeing them for 20 years. If we ever return we would want Willem to be our guide.
.
I hope you are able to pass these comments on to Robert (?) and Willem. Please tell him that my photographs turned out great and we have many wonderful memories of Kruger, thanks to him.
.
Graham and June. .

.
Thank you for this, Andrew & Natalie.
.
I will be back in Canada after September 30. After I have my slides processed, our plan is to combine our collective efforts and one of us, James, is likely going to set up a website for viewing. I will reply to you after I am back.
.
In a nutshell, it was a stellar experience all round! Willem was wonderful, and Bev shows great promise too! I suggest that the 3-hour days walk, instead of the night drive, as a default option.
.
All good wishes,
.
Colin

.
Hello Andrew!
.
Thank you for your kind note, we had a lovely time on our safari adventure.
.
Willem is terrific: eager, intelligent and kind. He relentlessly searched for a lion and we found our king of the jungle just before our departure yesterday. His home cooked breakfast was memorable, and his never ending patience and good
humour a gift to travellers.
.
The travel arrangements ( flight and
accommodations) were seamless, Willem met us at the airport the minute we arrived and delivered us for return in perfect timing.
.
Your patience as I determined my travel needs before arrival ( those many emails from me, with various
enquires and changes) should be noted as well.
.
You should certainly be included in The Lonely Planet series as we are devotees of their guide books and are certain you would be an asset to their repertoire and their readers.
.
Thank you for a wonderful adventure.... even with the Kruger burning our guide made our trip a memorable and rich experience.
.
If we can serve you in the US, as references or in any other way, please let us know.
.
Best Regards,
.

Hi there,

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 week holiday in South Africa - it is a unique and very special place.??
.
Our 5 day Classic Kruger Safari was the highlight.??We were spoilt with Robert as our guide - he was extremely knowledgeable about the flora and fauna of Africa.?
.
Not only were we lucky enough to see up-close-and-personal the wildlife of Kruger, Robert also gave great us educational commentary with a dash of dry humour which we really appreciated.?
.
We saw three of the big five - elephant, buffalo and lion, various antelope, hippos, crocodiles, monkeys and baboons, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, warthogs, vultures, hawks, owls, ostrich and even a black mamba!? The African sunsets were beautiful to see.?
.
The accommodation was comfortable and Robert concocted great food!? Thank you for the fantastic adventure? - we will be telling all our friends about Safari Rangers.

5 Day Classic Kruger Safari
.
Dear Natalie, Andrew and Leonard,
Thank you very much to make our safari happened! We had an amazing time and incredible experiences! We saw the Big 4,
unfortunately we missed Leopard. (We have a reason to go back!) Otherwise we were really very lucky we saw some highly endangered animals for example Black Rhino(!!!!), Ground Hornbill, Hyena, some Eagles, and so on.
.
Our guide, William, is a really great man, he has a very nice
personality, he has an unbelievable knowledge on all of the animals, plants and historical stories. We enjoyed his company very much. And he is such a great chef, that both of us have put on 2 kilos during a week! Please, please pass on to him our best wishes and greetings!
.
We enjoyed our time so much that we are already planning when to return.
As soon as I can I will send you some nice pictures as well! (This is my first day here at my company after my holiday, so
unfortunately I have a lot to do.)
Once again thank you very much for the unforgettable experiences, special thanks to William!!!!
I will get back to you with some pictures soon.
Best regards,
Nelli & George

4 Day Classic Kruger Safari
.
Hi guys
.
Been a bit hectic since got back from SA but it was fantastic. To be honest I had no idea of what to expect but with only ourselves and another couple on the safari it was great we had loads to see and there was not the boredom around that I had been told to expect. There seem to be something to see all the time.
.
Fossie our guide was fantastic. He was relaxed enough that he did not seem like a tour guide or a bus driver more like a friend who was showing us around the place. Nothing was to much trouble for him.
.
I have a few photos that I took while in the park, a few might be an understatement but digital makes it so much easier.

4 Day Classic Kruger Safari
.
Hi guys,
.
I meant to do this earlier but the holiday continued after the safari and, well, the beach was calling...
.
Stacey and I were lucky enough to be on a 4 day safari to Kruger from 26-29 July with Fosey as our guide (was that with one or two 's'). The safari was great from the planning to the accommodation and itinerary.
.
But the big thing that stuck in our minds (apart from seeing the Big 5 in one day and generally having such a sightings bonanza that impala, elephants and giraffes almost became a bit boring) was the attitude, demeanour and work ethic of our guide. More than a guide, Fosey was an outstanding host in every sense of the word and really did make our safari a much more enjoyable experience than say, a drive through a National Park.
.
If all of your guys are as professional as Fosey, then I'm sure that any friends to whom we recommend your company will have just as great a safari as we did!
.
Regards and many thanks for a terrific African adventure,
.

3 Day Classic Kruger Safari
.
Dear Andrew & Natalie,
.
Thanks for your message. We arrived back in the UK a couple of weeks ago after spending 3 weeks in South Africa. As you rightly say, South Africa is an amazing country, we all had a truly memorable holiday.
.
Our Safari was the first leg of our trip, having arrived in Jo'burg the day before we set off for Kruger. Our 3 days with Willem will stay in our memories for a very long time.
.
Your website is full of useful information although, with this being our first safari, we were not totally sure what to expect. However, at the end of the day, the whole experience was
beyond anything we had imagined!
.
Not only was the game viewing excellent, in the company of an expert guide, but the level of service and organisation was faultless and enabled us to enjoy a totally relaxing and memorable 3 days.
.
Before we left the UK, we were not totally sure how our children (aged 9 and 11) would take to the experience - would the whole thing be too tiring? We had no need to be concerned however and we would be happy to recommend a Safari Rangers itinerary to other parents.
.
Indeed, we would be happy to recommend Safari Rangers to anyone - I think we've mentioned you to a few people already! It's amazing how many people we've come across recently who are considering South Africa for a future holiday. (Do you have any Safari Rangers literature we could pass on to some friends who don't have internet access at home?)
.
Please feel free to forward our comments to Lonely Planet.
.
Once again, many thanks for helping provide us with one of our holiday "highlights".
.
We've attached a few photo's you might wish to look at.
.
Kind regards,
.
Clare and Andrew

3 Day Classic Kruger Safari
.
.
Hi Andrew & Natalie,
.
I am so glad you requested my reaction to our safari, because I was going to email you anyway!
.
This safari weekend has been one of the best weekends of my life. Two American college friends and I were looking for a safari to Kruger, because we would all be in Johannesburg at the same time, and your company tailored a safari to just what we were looking for.
.
When I had questions about the trip, Rob was very prompt in getting in touch with me and flexible with change of plans in the pick up and drop off. Rob was flexible, kind, knowledgeable, fun, and a general huge blessing throughout the trip.
.
This was my first safari, and as a little bit of a city girl, I didn't quite know what to expect. The lodging was great. I had so much fun on the actual safari. We saw all of the big five except cheetah. We got so close to the animals, I could practically reach out and touch them (BUT I didn't, because that would be against the rules!). The views we saw were breathtaking as well.
.
We were well supplied with water, binoculars, and books, and our faithful guide knew the routes well and could answer any question we threw at him. (Although we never did get to hear his impression of a roaring lion...)
.
.
The panoramic tour back to
Jo'burg was great. I am spending five weeks working at an orphanage in
Jo'burg, and this was my one chance to see the rest of the country, and I am blown away by its beauty and diversity.
.
.
I have rarely felt so in awe of the blessings God has given us, as I did on this trip. I would definitely recommend Safari Rangers to others, and will try to convince my parents to go on safari when I get back to the states.
.
.
Thanks so much!
.
.
If you ever need to try out an all-inclusive safari on someone, let me know!

4 Day Classic Kruger
Safari
.
Hello Andrew and Natalie
.
First of all can we all thank Robert and yourselves for a memorable experience on our 4-day Kruger Safari.
.
Having lived in South Africa for three years we had never thought to take a trip to Kruger National Park.
.
Robert collected the six of us from the City Lodge Hotel in Johannesburg in a minibus with a trailer. The five-hour journey was pleasant and comfortable with adequate stops. Our guide was a wealth of information with regards to the countryside between Johannesburg and Nelspruit.
.
We entered the park at 1.00pm and immediately saw a Leopard with its kill. The rest of the day was spent touring the southern Kruger area spotting a variety of wildlife. Once again our guide was a mine of information.
.
The first night we stopped in Pretoriuskop, the accommodation was a three bed roomed bungalow. Spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable. Before the evening meal we explored the camp, having a drink in the bar and bought some gifts in the well-stocked shop.
.
While we were away from the accommodation Robert prepared and cooked a fantastic meal in his cast iron pot. The table was set outside on the veranda including small oil lamps, tablecloth and wine glasses. From this point my wife and daughter wanted to bring Robert home to the UK. He waited on us hand and foot and nothing was too much trouble.
.
Getting up at five fifteen the following morning was a slight problem as my alarm clock failed and Robert awakened us at 5.40 with tea and coffee.
.
We left Pretoriuskop when the gates opened at six and started our game hunt. This included over the next three days Elephant, Rhino, Crocodiles, Hippopotamus, Buffalo, Wildebeest, Impala, Baboon, Monkey, Giraffe, Kudu and Zebra. We had to wait until the afternoon of the third day to spot a lone male Lion.
.
Robert cooked breakfast at 10 am in a small rest camp. Cereals, bacon and eggs always taste better in the open air.
.
The second and third night we spent in Skukuza, the accommodation was in single roomed rondavals (thatched roof round houses), which were very clean and comfortable. Robert again gave us two memorable meals outside under the stars. The third day was spent as the two previous chasing the elusive “Big Five”.
.
The third evening we spent on a night safari, which was organised for us with a Kruger game warden. This was great fun and we spotted more Lion, Hyena, and Snakes.
.
The fourth morning we again toured the park until mid-morning. Leaving the Kruger behind we travelled north, stopping for breakfast before arriving at the spectacular Blyde River Canyon and the Lisbon waterfalls. We then stopped at the old gold mining town of Pilgrims Rest for lunch. Our guide’s choice of restaurants and tourist attractions were first class.
.
We then left reluctantly for our hotel in Johannesburg.
.
We felt that the itinerary was well thought out, and we had seen more than we could have wished for, but it was still a very relaxing experience, which was due entirely to the professional and friendly way Robert conducted himself. He answered all our questions regarding the wildlife of the area.
.
This was our first taste of a safari and we all found it to be an exciting, thrilling and informative experience.
.
We would not hesitate to recommend you to our friends and family. If asked what we would complain about in writing, the page would be blank!
.
We wish you all best wishes for the future.
.
From
.
Jim, Ann, Steven, Janine, Jenny and Gavin.

5 Day Overland
Classic Kruger Safari
.
Dear Andrew-Natalie,
.
We had a truly awesome
time at the safari. It was a very amazing unparalleled experience.
Both of us were truly thrilled. South-Africa is a beautiful
country. We would love to visit it again in the future.
.
The safari tour was very
very well managed. We are very much grateful to Mr. Fossie Ferreira,
who did a tremendous job to ensure that we were comfortable.
He took very good care of us. He is a great cook too.
.
We loved talking to him,
sharing his experiences and learnt a lot about wildlife from
him. He has great knowledge and very good communication skills.
We liked both the
camps that he took us to and the energy and enthusiasm he showed
in taking us around.
.
We are in the process of
selecting our best pictures from the safari. We will surely
send you some that we like.
.
One small comment/suggestion-
I think your website should be more specific about the 5 day
vs. a 3 day tour. A 5 day tour is really a 3 1/2 day tour in
the park; also, it would be helpful for future visitors to know
the distance from Jo'burg to the Kruger park to plan their trip.
.
Overall, we had a fantastic
time. I have recommended your safari to a few people at my work
who asked me about my trip.
.
Thanks a lot for all your
help. If we or our friends decide to visit a South African safari,
we will be glad to contact you.
.
Cheers,
.

Day Classic Kruger Safari
.
Hello,
Sorry for taking
so long to get back to you but getting back to Switzerland
and emptying the cases etc has taken the past few days!
Anyway, all I can say is that I had one
of the best experiences of my life in Kruger Park and it
was made extra special because of Fossie our Ranger.
He was an absolute gem.
.
Everything was so well organised and the
food was just to die for! The cooked breakfast really
spoilt us and everyone was really jealous of the fantastic
eggs and bacon that Fossie made.
.
The personalised
tour was just great - it meant that we could stop and look
at everything no matter whether flora or fauna. Fossie
was really informed and answered all of our questions.
We had a great
time and we want to come back to South Africa and perhaps
do the Sabie Sands area this time and if Fossie were available
we would be very happy to have him guide us again.
Ok, I have some
piccies attached.

Day Classic Kruger Safari
Just back today and I was going to email
you to thank you for all your help.
It was an amazing experience and we thoroughly
recommend it in every way.
.
We are actively
working on our own return next Easter as well as about
five different groups of family/friends. We cannot recommend
you higher! And please feel free to use any of our
comments in your materials and bid to get included in
various guidebooks.
First, congrats to Willem who could
not have been kinder or more knowledgeable.
We just loved him and we are so grateful to him
for all the information he gave us as well as the good
care he took of us. He's simply
a great guide and terrific human being!
.
Nick
is particular was grateful for all the stuff he taught
Nick about tracking. We are all shocked by how much we
learned in just a few days and how many animals we saw.
.
The trip was
terrific value for money too. We
found it easy and we felt safe and comfortable.
Willem was great with our 9 year old daughter and very
kind to me with my fear of driving in bad weather.....
